Endsleigh originally launched a landlord's buildings insurance scheme for student rental properties after many other insurers left the market in the 1980's. Following this, a large number of landlords approached Endsleigh for cheap cover to insure buy to let properties and as Endsleigh already had years of experience with rented accommodation it developed a policy for landlords who rent to both students and non-student tenants.
