Boiler packed up on 14/02 and had to wait 8 days for an engineer. Still not fixed (04/03). Lame excuses, very poor customer service, no call back as promised, always having to ring which can take up to 30 mins to get an answer and they always say they understand and know how we feel! At the start of their welcome letter they state about you being 'warm and cosy' due to having Eon central heating insurance, what a joke

Useless - put your money in a savings account and use it to call out a proper service engineer.
Our boiler broke down on Sunday; we phoned straight away and were given a slot for Monday from 1 til 8pm. 8:10 pm still no engineer, I phoned customer services who told me that the slot had been missed and that the earliest an engineer could now be with us would be Friday, 5 days after the breakdown. This with snow on the ground!

My problem has been going on for 6 weeks now and the boiler still not working. No heating or hot water, at one point we was without heating and hot water for five days.
I will be making a claim.

I rang on 14/02/2010 with an emergency as no hot water and heating playing up. I was called back to be told that a plumber would ring me. It is now 23.00 on 15/02/2010 and I have still not heard anything from this plumber. Luckily the hot water is working again for some reason but the heating is still playing up!!!

Pump failed on the central heating system and earliest appointment was 7 days for a job which would take them 30min to do. Waste of money.

Appalling service. Appointments regularly broken. Annual services not done. Complaints department offered a 'gustier' ie 'gesture'. After boiler breakdown told earliest appt 6 days hence - during intensely cold weather. Requested earlier appointment - told if I wanted to queue jump I would be putting myself ahead of a frail, sick or elderly person! Trying to get out of contract and advise against agreement with this company.

Had previously used British Gas for Annual services etc and no problems. Sept 08: Had both BG & EON to quote for new boiler install. Whole deal was £'s better from EON. All new controls, new boiler installed, rad and full system flush (filthy with rust/debris) as per quote. Job completed on time. One post work problem with system regarding balance, needed two more visits to set up, all done as promised. All ok now.

My experience over the past 2 years is a positive one.
Yes, you have to remember to call them to arrange your annual service, but Eon have always been good at offering appointments within acceptable timescales and true to their word are there when the worst happens. They even came out to balance our system after having an additional radiator installed.

I didn't think anyone could be worse than British Gas for boiler cover but E-On have managed it! Two hour time slots may be great but when it takes them 6 days to come out to look at a complete failure then take another 5 weeks to fix the problem you may want to give E-On a miss!
They may be "changing the way it feels to be a customer" but it's not a great feeling and such I won't be customer much longer.
A very poor service.

Numerous phone calls from me, numerous excuses and promises from them, three weeks later and still no heating. Make your own mind up!

The service provided be Eon is useless. The right hand doesn't have a clue what the left hand is doing. They order the wrong parts,[or no parts] they don't return phone calls. We've been having boiler problems since Dec 10th 07. We've twice been totally shut down by them for a total of six weeks,no heat or hot water. At the moment the flu for the boiler is held together with gaffer tape [by their engineer!] Stay away at all costs

My boiler broke down sat 23/02/08 on sunday 24/02/08 I called e-on. An engineer came to my house the same day and he temporarily fixed my boiler and ordered the part. I then received a call on Wednesday 27/02/08 to say an engineer would be coming thursday 28/02/08 and true to their word my boiler is now fixed and as good as new. I am more than happy with the service I recieved from e-on and would recommend them to anyone.

Eon engineer came out on the 21/12/07 saying he needed to order a part and up to today 10/02/07 still no part after a number of phone calls - keep away from eon.

It will be 10 weeks tomorrow since a heating engineer from eon came out to look at my boiler - I have no hot water when the heating is on and the heating itself is not working properly - am having to get up in the freezing cold every morning just so I can have a hot shower before work. I also have a leak in my boiler that is dripping 4 times a minute. If anyone is thinking about taking this plan out I URGE you to reconsider.

I have been waiting three and a half weeks for EON to fix my boiler so much for boiler insurance. I would stay away from this company.

Been paying Powergen (now Eon) for over 3 months now... still no free inspection. My boiler stopped the other week. Took 3 days until engineer came out. He informed us they need a part and someone will call me. Over a week later, no call and can't get hold of the call centre.

Boiler fault on my baxi combi - it took 4 days for a person to come. I have made numerous calls and have been fobbed off with excuses. 14 days later still no sign of anybody coming to fix it despite them taking £13 per month for broken promises. So beware of Powergen now EOn.
