Customer Review Comments:
After selling my motorbike I telephoned Bennetts to cancel my insurance. Around a week later I received a demand for a further (nearly) £60, giving me 3 days to pay or else they would hand the matter to a debt recovery agency.
I telephoned Bennetts and they told me I had received "letter number 3", missing out letters 1 & 2 which are apparently a little more polite. The lady I spoke to promised to ring back the following Monday to let me know what had happened. Needless to say the phone call never came.
I paid the amount by cheque posted first class and 5 days later I received what is probably their "letter number 2", from their Debt Recovery department and starts with the words "Final Warning". This was somewhat of a surprise as I had already been in touch on the telephone and sent them a cheque which they should have received.
So apart from penalising me heavily financially for cancelling my insurance (which I am sure was in some small print somewhere), sending me a threatening letter giving me three days to pay, not returning a telephone call to update me on what was happening, they have also failed to update their own records when receiving a payment and still sent out a nasty Final Warning.
Well maybe this is a warning to you too Bennetts. And a warning to you as consumers. Personally, with the way they are handling this, I wouldn't go anywhere near the company ever again.
