Review of Norwich Union Simple Cover Car Insurance

I booked my insurance online for convenience and speed. I purchased a policy with Norwich Union simple cover, on a thursday at 6 o'clock pm, paying in full immediately.

On the same evening I tried to book my tax online but the database was not updated which meant I could not purchase a tax disk, (until the system shows that my car is actully insured). When I contacted the company by phone they said it takes 2 to 3 days for the system to be updated, which was not mentioned anywhere in the booking proceedure. I have just tried again, three days after my payment was made and I still cannot have my car taxed as the system is stil not showing my car as insured. This means my car has already been insured for three days plus and I still cannot drive it off of my drive because it cannot be taxed until Norwich Union update their system.

I have found this really disappointing as the reason for booking online was for speed. If I had had booked in the office instead of online I would have been driving my car by now. Be carefull and don't expect to be on the database for a while. So much for the convenience of cyberspace and speed. In this day and age Norwich Union should get with it and update the systems regularly! ! !
