Customer Review Comments:
2 Jan 2008 - Head tank leaked causing damage to walls, ceilings and contents. Rainbow appointed for contents and to dry out the house. Dehumidifiers running for 1 month and did an excellent proffesional job.
Asprea appointed for buildings, surveyor did not even check head tank or carry out survey correctly, also failed to fill survey form in correctly and no plumber arrived. After phoning and leaving messages no return calls received. Eventually plumber arranged from Mono queried as to whether overflow now clear. Got plumber friend to have a look and found overflow still blocked, could have had same problem if valve failed and another claim.
Complained to Barclays and told I could get own decorators in but needed re-survey as all work not covered in original survey. Quote submitted but Asprea, quote for works over £1000 less, so had to let Asprea appoint Mono to redecorate.
4 months on and phoning Barclays every 2 days still no sign of any decorators. This has just caused me and my family stress, frustration and heartache - the hall and landings are a mess. With no carpets drafts make the house cold. Also because Barclays/Norwich Union did not settle the contents and de-humidifier electricity useage, I have been out of pocket and horrified to receive an electric bill for £300 with a demand for £150 and my direct debit going up from £40 to £90. The electric has now been paid but only with continual phoning of Barclays.
I thought insuring with a large institution like Barclays would provide me with good cover and service, this obviously has not been the case.
