Customer Review Comments:
DO NOT INSURE WITH NIG, complete disappointment, these guys are worse than cow boys, they have not heard of customer service.
NIG is most definitely the worst insurance company I have ever had the misfortune to use. I was involved in a 3 car collision and my vehicle was damaged at the near side front and side, this company uses the cheapest body repairer possible and work quality is complete rubbish.
They have de-valued my 04 model vehicle badly by shoddy repair and most importantly messing up the other critical functions like central locking and air-conditioning and the amount of scratches on the paint work were unbelievable.
The problem is many body shops are very poorly run and if the insurance company is good then generally you would be ok, but NIG is worse than their repairers.
When I complained to the repairer "AUTODEX Reading", I was advised that the Aircon and central locking couldn’t have been working before the accident and they have not done anything wrong. This obviously escalated to NIG and the bigger surprise hit us, NIG replied with the following answer:
"CAN WE PROVE THAT THE AIRCON AND CENTRAL LOCKING WAS WORKING BEFORE THE ACCIDENT? "
Luckily I could provide a proof in shape of a full service report / invoice; because the vehicle had a major service including aircon gas and pollen filter only 3 weeks before the accident by a reputable garage HOFFMANN'S OF HENLEY.
NIG’s Engineer, Dave replied, AHHHH, OK it might be working at the time of service but probably stopped working before the accident and I needed to prove that these features were functioning on the day of the accident …………….. Obviously after this intelligent question, I decided to speak to his superiors with the hope that I will have someone with a more than one brain cell………
I have sent my complaint to their complaints@nig-uk.com address, also made phone call to log the complaint. Still we live in a hope…….. AVOID THIS SHAMBLE OF A COMPANY, PAY A LITTLE EXTRA, if you have to.. I know I will next year.
