Took out a lifetime policy in case my dog kito developed a condition. Paid a higher premium for this service at £23 per month!
He developed hip dysplasia and a skin allergy condition! With this policy he is covered for life up to 7 conditions a year up to £4000 each condition. As I now have monthly medication for him, I expect the policy to pay out considering I'm on the 2nd higher premium with lifetime cover, which is why I got this product!!! Policy review after 1st year and monthly claims £39 per month an increase of 90%. Surprised but not too bad considering the claims history. Just got policy review for april 2011 at £129 per month, an increase of 220% - rediculous. Red Sands the underwriters will not budge even though I took out a high policy in case this happens. I can't go anywhere else as he won't be covered. He is only 4 still, what happens next year as he has 2 lifelong conditions? Will it keep going up evey year? This is an insurance policy not a loan service as I feel I'm now paying back what I claimed for!!
I had my other dog covered but cancelled him in case he developed a condition too. What then £500 per month for dog insurance? It's companies like this that make animal lovers have there beloved pets put down!!!!
