Review of Axa Buildings and Contents Cover

My 4 year old daughter accidently broke our new LCD TV last week.

On initially calling AXA to make my claim I was asked what happened. Then I got a call later from a guy who asked me again to tell him in detail, not once but twice. It took over an hour. He then informed me that my story was slightly different from the one that I told the girl earlier. I explained that it was all very confusing and happened very quickly and I could not remember every finite detail. He was not interested but warned me that there may be a problem with the claim as there was a difference in the details.

I am covered for accidental damage and that should be the end of it. He then informed me that I will have to complete a written statement, take numerous photo's of the damage from every angle of the room and, would you believe it, obtain an engineers report at my own expense.

Pardon me, but why should I do all the work, I thought that was the responsiblity of the insurance.

I have 14 days in which to comply...How the hell am I supposed to do that then, when undertaking a full time job. I m not a happy bunny, firstly being interogated and being made to feel like a lying criminal and secondly having to do all the running around in my time.

I lay money on it that my claim will be rejected, as these monkey's are quick to deduct your hard earned, then use every sleazy excuse not to pay out.

Why bother with Insurance at all, I say.

I have a claim for theft from boot of car - the items were in the car, the next day I went and they were not. They refuse to pay out claiming the boot must have been left open but confirm I have not been negligent and have complied with the action I have taken.
