My employer (who I have been with for 5 years) provides me with a health insurance policy through AXA.
I used to be very happy with the policy and always found the staff helpful and accommodating. However, things have gone seriously downhill in the last year. My latest experience (which is still ongoing) has been a complete fiasco.
To keep it short, I am due to have an operation tomorrow which was authorised by AXA 4 days ago, however after calling them today, it has now been unauthorised! I have had several phone calls backwards and forwards between AXA, the hospital, my specialist and my GP trying to resolve the issue but AXA are adamant that they are not going to cover it.
I am currently waiting to speak to a supervisor to find out why they have unauthorised a previously authorised procedure the day before I'm due to go in to hospital! Appalling service, I would advise anyone looking for private health insurance to steer well clear of AXA PPP.
