On taking online car insurance, directchoice asked for a copy of my Licence. I posted copies of both sides in their prepaid envolope. They claimed they didn't receieve it. So I emailed both copies. They sent a letter saying it was unacceptable, nothing more, no reason as to what or why it was unacceptable.
I followed up on this and got their answer after the 14 day cooling off period. My licence had my old address on it since I'd recently moved. So I sent my licence to DVLA to change address, and sent the DVLA reciept( acceptable by the police) to directchoice. They have now cancelled my insurance and charged almost 50% in fee's for 3 weeks insurance cover. This is how they make their money.
Other people have also posted problems with Directchoice over this licence rule, which they don't announce before hand, and they continue to do this having had previous complaints.
