Recently booked single trip insurance as my annual trip insurance had run out.
I travel frequently for my work and was booking a flight from Athens to Paris on Easyjet. I never travel without insurance and always use Endsleigh but it had run out so decided to book just this once with Easyjet. They took my money, sent me a confirmation email saying "Thank you, you are now insured for your trip".
In Paris I had an item stolen from me. Reported it to the police and the hotel I was staying, sent in all the documentation and their excuse for denying the claim was my insurance was only valid from routes to and from the UK and the reason why my payment for the insurance and the confirmation email was sent to me was that the system does not recognize destinations!!! How convenient.
Surely a consumer watchdog company should pick up on this as so many people do not read the small print including myself but then I did not expect a misleading email telling me that I was insured. SHAME ON EASYJET FOR DOING BUSINESS WITH THE LIKES OF THIS COMPANY.
