Engineer came to do the yearly inspection of boiler, after she left the boiler had broken (even though it was working fine before). I phoned Eon and an engineer came within a couple of days, he had no idea what the first engineer had done to my boiler. He ordered parts for trial and error, to be honest this engineer was pleasant and told me that the inspection engineer had done something wrong but couldn't get in contact with her to find out what. The ordered parts came and the parts dept ordered the wrong bits!! When the right part came it still didnt work, engineer was apologetic and embarrassed by this time. More parts ordered (I think a gas valve) this was installed and boiler worked!
We were without hot water and central heating for 21 days, this was in mid october '09. I complained to customer service and was told that I won't receive any compensation and that only my complaint will be used to improve the service. In the end I managed to get three free months of cover (about £45 in all).
