I have just finished travelling across America for 10 weeks (from San Francisco to Miami) and had my passport stolen. They covered the cost (apart from the excess). I still had to pay £50, however a passport is now £77.70 so I still saved some money.

I can't complain, they were very friendly and didn't question me too much, just got on with it and gave me my money :)
