Customer Review Comments:
I bought Go Walkabout Economy 500 travel insurance in September 2010: £46.47 for six weeks in Australia.

A week after travelling, my father died unexpectedly. I returned to the UK on the next available international flight with the airline whose return ticket I held. There was a charge made for this change of booking plus that of a connecting flight in Australia.

I submitted a claim for costs associated with trip curtailment (part of the insurance cover). I was referred to a claim handler, Travel Insurance Facilities. They required a death certificate and a medical certificate completed by my father's GP. These two certificates cost £25 in total and are non-refundable by the insurer.

A claim for £235.26 was posted on 24 January and I received no response from TIF until 10 March.

After 6.5 weeks "careful consideration" TIF wrote that there were no grounds for my claim based on Policy wording (which they enclosed) from a Policy type which I had not purchased from Go Walkabout.

After receiving an email from the client we asked our claims department to look into the issue. We did this within 24 hours and was able to inform the client the next day his claim would be paid. Human error meant an incorrect policy wording had been referred to. Go Walkabout takes customer satisfaction very seriously and have, for over ten years, enjoyed a very high level of repeat custom. Please give us a call if you have any queries about our products or our service.
