Customer Review Comments:
Took out the highest level of cover with them when my dog was only a few months old (over 5 years ago). Was reasonably priced at just under £15 per month.
Second year increased to £21.99, then when it came to third year cover renewal lept up to £41 per month, they also changed there insurer from AXA to Royal Sun Alliance and in my opinion thats when it all started going down hill. They changed the terms of the policy, high excess not as much was covered and all this for DOUBLE what it cost previously. By this stage we found my dog had 2 ongoing illnesses arthritis and a bladder problem. So had we changed our insurance provider we would have not been covered for these conditions, so they basically had us exactly where they wanted us.
The fourth year it went up to £58 per month which was bad enough then this year the renewal came in at £115 PER MONTH. We had no choice as we could just no longer afford it and had we agreed to that amount I have no doubt that they more than likely would have doubled the premium again the following year.
I contacted them and asked what caused such a huge increase and all they said was "well it's beacuse you have a Bulldog". The worst part about it was that whilst we were looking for a new policy our beloved dog fell ill very suddenly and died of cancer at only 5 years old. We weren't covered at this point so had to pay the costs ourselves. I can't help feeling that if we were still covered we would have maybe been able to give him a better level of care even though it wouldn't have saved him as it was untreatable.
