Review of More Than Home Buildings & Contents Insurance

In 2002 More Than's quote for buildings & contents cover was very good and I accepted.

Each year since the premium has risen, sometimes very little and sometimes by as much as 40% until end of last year when premium was increased from just over £900 to More Than £2400 meaning that my year 9 insurance would be 7 times my year 1 insurance.

There was no explanation for this increase. I telephoned but was unable to get a reason over the phone. I wrote to More Than asking for an explanation but have not received a reply.

No claims were made during the 8 years of cover, no changes made to the house and no significant change to the contents or occupancy (a married couple). I have no history of claims, 1 in the previous 30+ years, and I've no idea what has changed since 2002. My new insurer is charging less than 1/4 of More Than - I should have switched years ago!
