My wife and I were with More Than for 3 years with vehicle Insurance, no accidents, no speeding but last year they put my insurance up from £320 to £549. They said it was due to the number of claims people made, I protested with no avail so moved to Churchill, policy cost £319.
Wrote to More Than and complained, read the next day on This is Money website about their parent Company in court for overcharging on other peoples repairs, no surprise.
Come December, about 9 months later, my Wifes policy had only gone up a little but I changed from More Than to Churchill and got it just over £100 cheaper as no way was I staying with More Than.
I'm sure they have regretted their actions now as I see some time later on TV More Than advertising that they will beat your quote, too late More Than, would never use you again after your treatment and what I can only call profiteering. I'm sure my case was not isolated.
Well thats what Jack Straw MP calls it all. There is no point at all in being loyal to any Insurance Company these days, sad I thought but thats what its like today I guess.
PS. More Than used personal Claims managers, mine was delightful, helpful but there was little she could do and apologised ringing me before the renewal arrived in the post, to lessen the shock I suppose.
