After 9 years I have just discovered that I have been paying £7.99 a month for phone insurance I didn't know I had. I only discovered this when my bank pointed out that the direct debit entry 'policy admin serv £7.99' was a mobile phone insurance. This is hardly a descriptive name for a mobile phone insurance. To make it worse I have never received any paper work, like annual reminders, since 2002.

Most folk have busy lives and could easily miss something like this if their insurance company just rolls the direct debit forwards without an annual review.

Right now we are in the process of making a formal complaint via the Financial Ombudsman. PAS have offered us back 3 years worth of payments as a gesture of good will. No chance we are aiming to get £650 or more back.

Yep exactly the same for me, £7.99 since May 2008. Contacted PAS they are getting hold of DD meanwhile I am writing to FO.

I've just realised the same thing - I cant believe they are allowed to do this!!! Please can you let me know what happened following this??

Wow just had a call from my bank too about exactly the same thing dont even know yet how long my policy goes back. Can you give me some advise on what to do next
