I went onto the compare websites to look for the best deal for my car insurance, and Renew Car Insurance did seem to offering the best deal. However once I had committed, the cost rose dramatically when a total of £47.00 was taken out of my bank account as a "deposit". This is an additional charge which is not noted anywhere on the policy, so be warned.
I did make an attempt to contact the call centre, I say attempt, as after waiting for an unreasonable amount of time I finally gave up. I emailed asking what the deposit was for, is it returned? or taken off the policy?, the reply was that it was an initial deposit with no real reason what it was for.
In hindsight I would have gone with a more well known insurance company whose documentation doesn't look like it was printed in someones back room printer.
