I have already posted a negative review about HomeServe UK Insurance after they failed to send a plumber out for a plumbing emergency at my home in North Yorkshire UK in November 2009.
They were unable to send a plumber to me despite a requirement to do so and thus failed to adhere to the terms and conditions of the insurance agreement I had with them.
I therefore wrote to the Chief Executive and e-mailed a copy of the letter of complaint to their press office. I received a very prompt response and a full apology (written and verbal) about the poor quality of service. I also received full re-imbursement of all my insurance contributions (289 pounds) and an offer to pay for the services of the plumber I did eventually manage to persuade to attend the leak in my kitchen.
I have to say I was very surprised and grateful for the way HomeServe dealt with my complaint and the resolution.
