If, godforbid you have to claim Aviva will fob you off to the loss adjusters, in my case Cunningham Lindsay. I was left homeless for 9 months due to a fire next door. I arranged temporary accommodation for myself for the first few weeks but when I needed to move on I phoned CL for temporary accommodation. All I got was "sort it out yourself" with no offer to pay for it (when they could be bothered to answer the phone).
As I couldn't afford B and B for weeks on end, I ended up sleeping in the car for a couple of nights. I complained to Aviva but the Indian call centre said it was nothing to do with them and passed the buck back to CL.
CL then offered me a cash offer for contents of 55% of the value. When I refused and asked for replacements they got aggressive and asked for manuals and reciepts for everything even though the contents were being held in storage at the time.
