Not a great experience really with Direct Line.
I had two mountain bikes stolen last December, value was over £3000.
Whilst the lost adjuster was quick to visit over the festive period, that was the last speedy part of the claim.
Claim was finally paid in May, after around 20 phone calls to Direct Line, having to chase the claim through (literally) EVERY stage of their process. At one point I was dealing with four different companies to try and get my claim resolved.
Numerous promised call backs and actions where never executed on also.
Overall, a very disappointing experience. To add insult to injury, upon renewal, Direct Line also imposed an endorsement on my policy, that is impossible to fulfill given I live in a flat in a listed building. |
Good Points: They paid my claim
Bad Points: Speed of claim resolution, terrible customer service, nobody owning my claim, un-reasonable endorsements on renewal

Had extra cover with Direct Line to cover boiler breakdown. It started turning on and off every other second so we could not get any heating or water. When I phoned, the girl said they would not send anyone out as it had to be completely broken down. We are o.a.p.,s and had no heating for a month during cold winter. Scottish power took us on and solved the problem immediately.
