I totally agree with your concerns about Car Care Plan.
I purchased what I thought was a Jaguar extended warranty only to find when I needed to claim that the agreement is in fact with Car Care Plan. The car needed two repairs totalling close to £1000 and they refused to pay. Jaguar stepped in with a 'goodwill' contribution.
Surely the whole point of taking out these very expensive warranties is so that you are covered for repairs and then do not have to start complaining to the manufacturer.
We will definitely not be renewing with Car Care Plan!

Date: 18/10/2011 I took out a Car Care Plan warranty branded as a Saab Extended Warranty on a car I had had from new.
I had a problem with a turbo seal which ended up costing £900 to fix - Saab were great and gave me 30% as a goodwill offer, but Car Care Plan wouldn't entertain the claim. Another two items costing nearly £700 in total were also declined.
In my opinion the warranty booklet is very misleading and anybody thinking of taking out one of their plans should be aware that it omits many major - and expensive - parts. Not my definition of 'comprehensive!
