Review of Bennetts Motorcycle Cover

I paid for my son's bike insurance with Bennetts last year using my visa debt card and this year my son had a renewal reminder. With one years no-claims, it had only gone down by four pounds so He insured himself with Carole Nash, for the same cover and less money.

Because he did not cancel the Bennetts cover, they have taken nearly four hundred pounds out of my account, without asking me, and I'm having one hell of a time trying to get my money back. I have phoned them nearly every day from the 27th July, to be told they have a problem with their computers. On the 2nd August I was told that the policy was cancelled, but the refund would be up to 10 days and it should be in my account by the 16th. They said that I should send the policy documents back to them, which I did by next day post but the post got re-directed, and then my son get's the same policy back though the post!!

I have spoken to their customer care center about seven times and I feel as if I'm knocking my head against a wall. I have been told that the accounts are having to go though refunds by hand, so don't hold your breath for the 10 day rule. The one thing I want EVERYBODY to know is if you pay for your insurance by Visa Debt Card and no longer require the cover, make sure you CANCEL it or they will continue to take the money, because Visa guarantees it.

As I'm typing this I am having to keep calm. One last point - I've been on to the F.S.A and they are also sending Bennetts a letter, so we'll see how quick they are after that.
