Customer Review Comments:
I had to make a claim with Insure and Go after being hospitalised and put on a drip for 5 days. I missed my departure and my parents and younger sister stayed out in Spain with me.
My mother was assured that she and myself were covered for flights and that she was covered for her hotel, but that my father and sister were not. We accepted that, as per the terms of my policy. on the second day I spent in hospital they then spoke to my mother and told her that they would no longer be arranging our travel home and that they were no longer going to have anything to do with my claim due to a medical condition I did not disclose at the time I took out my policy. I do not have an existing medical condition. I was hospitalised for a probable burst ovarian cyst in November 2005 some 18 months before I went away in June 2007. I have never had any treatment for an existing condition nor am I on any medication.
At the time of taking out the policy I was asked for my medical history for the last 12 months which I provided honest and truthful answers. They have now (after more than 6 months of fighting them) agreed to pay out £300 which I believe is a disgrace considering interest on the amounts paid out for flights and hotel, telephone calls, added stress for me whilst in hospital etc etc.
Thankfully I had the foresight to take my E111 with me to pay for medical expenses or I have no idea how I would have paid for my treatment.
God help anyone who travels on their own/with just friends with a policy from Insure and Go - make sure you take a credit card, E111 and have some spare cash in the bank as they will no doubt drop you as well should you need their help.
They are a disgrace and are just thieves that happen to 'regulated' by the FSA. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy and have been treat in an abominable way.
