Customer Review Comments:

Could not repair my £2000 TV and then only offered a end of life replacement at £770. I wanted my money back (even the 770.00) however Domestic and General said it wasn't their insurance but a private company in Mayfair and I could only deal with them. Funny I said, it was domestic and general who called me, it was domestic and general who are on my bank statement.

OK I said, but I wanted a different model of TV. I was quoted a price £400 over what I could buy it for from somewhere else. Domestic and general staff were nonchulant and had a like it or lump it attitude. I was livid. You buy insurance for piece of mind.

Is there any insurance company with a no nonsense money back policy if it is the price of an equivilent model? Instead of being roped into a company which sells everything at RRP??

If I knew I was buying a policy and was stuck with another company I would not have taken out the insurance. I want my insurance agnostic and good value for money. This company is rubbish.

Agree ref the boiler warranty farce! Third rate companies used probably cheap for them. My 90 year mother had a major gas boiler leak on a saturday morning. Rang expecting assistance only to be told I would have to find my own plumber as their experts only do servicing!! They obviously knew how easy it is to get a plumber out first thing on a saturday! Ended up with British Gas who charged nearly £200. Expensive but came out quickly and sorted it all out. Dumped this lot at renewal and also cancelled my policy as well. Went to BG, tad more expensive but needed confidence when it comes to the main point of having a policy ie claiming.

Every year I have to fight with DomGen to get my boiler serviced by the contracted manufacturer. They keep trying to pan me off with fly-by-night companies that send round NON Corgi trained/approved "engineers".
