We were burgled on a Friday evening (7.12.07) and on Saturday I rang PaymentShield's Home Emergency Service to inform them and to ask them to arrange to come and make the house secure.
Whilst on the call I was asked a number of questions one being had we made a claim before. I said yes but not on this house and not with them - a bike had been stolen a couple of years ago. To this the person on the phone said he had no record of this and did not have access to our records as it was a Saturday so could not help us right now. He said he would check on Monday and call back indicating we may not be insured.
This was no good at all - the house needed securing immediately and to cap it all no one actually ever rang back.
To add insult to injury today (10.02.08) someone from Royal and Sun Alliance called to tell me the file was still open and could they now close it!!
