We had electrical cover with HomeServe, when we did make a claim they said it was not an emergency despite the cover being at my parents address it was winter and they are both retired. They said they could not find the fault and should get the house rewired. A local electrician came in and corrected the problem for £60 within an hour.

Date: 21/11/2010 We were also with Homeserve. The engineer told us how much the parts would be to fix our boiler and left us the prices for parts and labour. He then told us that we should contact HS who would pay the first £300. Then in front of us HS rang the engineer and tried to get him to up the price by £300 so we would end up covering the lot ourselves. Get your own tradesmen in and save the premium.
