Absolutely terrible. We were victims of hit and run while car was parked, Admiral have treated me like criminal. Never phone when say will, letters outdated and contain completely different information to what told on phone. Staff rude, aggressive and have caused me a lot of distress.
Car was written off and moved before we could remove belongings. Wont tell us where moved to, were told items would be returned, havent yet been. Made me do conference call with DVLA to check on license even though I hadnt driven car for a week and threatened to take hire car off me if didnt even though previously told they were happy to wait to do via mandates I had signed.
Wanted ridiculous amount of documents before issuing claim settlement offer. Paid for 12 months insurance upfront and now wont refund remaining 6 months, still taking excess even though not at fault. Staff I speak to never seem to know details of incident. Offered a meesly sum for settlement despite providing adverts of similar vehicles selling for much higher price and provided valuations, they wanted EXACT matches but only within 60 miles when I would usually search nationwide due to having family all over UK.
Have also received text messages asking me to phone back, and it has been a different division of company. I have had to constantly chase for information and has cost me a lot in telephone bills. At present I would have been much better off not claiming, financally and sanity wise. I am a strong person and have spent much of last 3 weeks in tears.
Havent offered advice as to other agencies that may help with situation, just get told "tough", we have provided police incident ref but as residential street and no chance of catching other party they dont give a damn and wont pay out cause they cant recover costs. We are in process of submitting a formal complaint. Admiral, Bell, Elephant and Diamond are all same company so beware of them all.
