Review of Homeserve Plumbing & Drainage cover

Well I have to agree with the other reviews on this site. I was woken this morning by water pouring out of my toilet overflow pipe. When I checked I found the water level in my toilet had gone over the top of the overflow and was heading for the top ready to flood my bathroom. So I quickly flushed the toilet and turned off my water.

I was not worried as I had a policy with Homeserve and classed myself as lucky that I was able to prevent my bathroom from flooding. So I phoned the the 24 hour claims number but was told that because I had prevented my bathroom being flooded by turning off my water and the water was coming out of the overflow pipe I was not covered.

So if I had just let it overflow and flood my bathroom I would have been covered. So because I prevented this from happening by turning off the water to my house I could not claim.

To me this is just as the other reviews have said, they use every trick to stop you claiming. I have 7 months left on my policy when I asked if I cancelled my policy would I be refunded any money they said no.

So if you have paid and do not want use there service any more they still keep your money. So I will not be renewing my policy with Homeserve again and will warn my friends not to touch this company with a barge pole.
