I have read the other reviews and experienced all of the problems mentioned; the company (NIG) is a disgrace!
I waited 3 and 1/2 months for them to allow my claim. 3 1/2 months of endless phone calls to people that were at times rude, unhelpful, blatently did not care about my situation, promises to call me back [this never happened].
By the way did you know that they are apparently not allowed to call out on a Monday? I only found this out when I called back to complain after waiting 2 days for said call!] Assurances that the situation was in hand and would be sorted within the next few hours.
I eventually sent an email and letter of complaint to MD and pressed the send button every day for the next week. Never had a direct reply but finally had a letter of apology and offer to pay my excess as a 'goodwill gesture ' Woopy do ! They' ll get this back from the person that caused the accident!
Did I mention that throughout this whole fiasco I had no courtesy car and therefore no transport? Oh and the garage called to say that my car had deteriorated to the extent that it would now cost more to repair.
Cheap insurance comes at a cost. At no point was I able to talk to anyone who seemed qualified to deal with my claim. The stress and ensuing expense has been unbelievable.
