Absolute waste of time... we have been in our home a year and the first time we needed insurance help was yesterday. Our boiler started to leak a lot of water from the bottom.. as a new home owner I wasn't sure how to deal with this. I remembered I pay extra every month for home emergency insurance and as it was about 9pm I needed this help.
After waiting for about 30 mins and several different queueing systems I got through to the most unpleasant unhelpfull woman ever. She said they couldn't get anyone to look at it until the morning. Now I know water dripping on electric cables isn't good so I needed emergency help. She said we can send someone out to stop the water but remember when it messes up its your fault and we won't cover your boiler. So she expected me to leave a leak on electrics overnight. Super advice you must agree... I decided to turn off all electric and water to be on the safe side, so no water or electric for the night.
I was promised a call back within an hour to confirm what would happen but 6 hours later no phone call so I phoned them. Eventually a gas fitter rang me and said we can get to you tomorrow, tomorrow = sunday, 2 days after the leak started and this is emergency cover!!!!! I asked him on the phone what to do... he explained how to isolate boiler and water (advice I needed 24 hours earlier!!!)
So I now await a visit from them.
