I think this is common on most policys so look out. When you find yourself stranded by an airline in another country and they hide behind the EU regulations regarding cancellation, you would like to think your insurer would sort it or pay you out. NEITHER happened. As such it took £450 and 24 hours before I got home.
Cancellation cover only covers your outbound journey not the return. The return apparently is the responsibility of the Airline. BUT, if their is bad weather, industrial strike, mechanical failure or other event beyond the control of the airline they can cancel the flight with no compensation or alternative arrangements.
