I'm having a nightmare with Homeserve. We live near Leeds. We had a leak in the kitchen and Homeserve were due to come out to stop the water coming from the dishwasher.
On the first night, they were going to call us to give advice - not come out, you understand, despite water pouring all over the kitchen!!!! We stayed up until midnight and they never called! The next morning they apologised (when I called them) and said that their system had been down.
That morning they said they would send someone within 2 hours (at 9.30) by 3.30 they still hadn't arrived. Then, just like buses, I got 2 at once. The first one (sub-contracted from Tech Services in Leeds) came at 3.45 and unplumbed the dishwasher, leaving it in the middle of the kitchen in a pool of water and legging it. He also snapped off a tap under the sink and left it broken on the worktop.
Within 5 minutes another Homeserve plumber arrived (who was nice and helpful - a real rarity in this company!). He pushed the dishwasher back and noticed the broken tap. I called Homeserve to complain about the sub-contractor, was told to contact them myself. I did so, only to get a barrage of abuse from the MD, who called me a liar!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutley a nightmare company! I'm on hold to them as I type, waiting to find out when someone will come to sort out fixing the broken tap.
