I was a happy customer for many years, until I needed them; I hadn't made a claim in 6 years of so called cover! Then I dropped my TV onto laminate floor whilst redecorating my dining room. I think ok I’m covered for accidental damage NOT SO!
Rapid Insure base their claims on a third party inspectorate CIIS who will use any reason to not pay (I smell end of year rebate between the two company's based on money saved). They failed to take all evidence into account and base their assessment on two recorded phone calls, hardly a good business model, at no point was I visited by a rep of the company to explain the incident.
I'm kind of glad it was only a small claim that made me realise the cover is not worth the paper it’s written on. Thank god it wasn’t a kitchen fire or burst pipe flooding as it took four months to get a decision, all my complaints have been stonewalled, and I’m currently in the process of complaining to the FSA and then it will become a legal matter.
I am now taking steps to remove all my policies both private and commercial from anyone linked with them or ciis.
