Having purchased my Virgin Insurance via a comparison site I expected all that I was assured of. I was devastated therefore when I had to claim.
Virgin use UK Assistance as a garage, who also provide the courtesy car via Enterprise Rent a Car. Courtesy car is only provided as long as garage is repairing your car. My car they decided was written off so they cancelled my courtesy car on Christmas Eve.
On telephoning Virgin I was informed it is just a courtesy after all and not part of your policy. Oh yes it is, said I, but Virgin would not budge so no courtesy car. As I was not notified by the hire firm of the cancellation until 27th Dec, I was charged by them for the hire from Christmas Eve until then.
The Insurance company uses Glass’ used car price guide and base their valuation on the selling price only. Tow bar’s are not covered even though stated on the policy but in a write off no value assigned, and unless you specifically notify virgin of any in car entertainment system this again is not covered. Over all very unhappy with Virgin would Never recommend or use again.
