Review of Lifestyle Services Group Mobile Phone Insurance

iPhone frustration - This is the first time I have been spurred into writing about a company on the Internet.

I registered my iPhone with RBS Royalties Gold on the RBS site. At no time did it say that iPhones were not covered - and in fact the site even allowed me to select the iPhone as my mobile of choice.

When I had cause to use the policy they initially refused to pay out, claiming that the iPhone was not in fact a phone, but a PDA. (Note the clue in the title...Apple called it an iPhone for good reason...er...because it's a phone...). After 20 minutes back and forth to a supervisor they eventually offered to meet some of the costs towards a new iPhone.

I will be writing to the bank to cancel the policy as they then told me that although they had paid out (sort of) on this occasion they would not pay out for any future claims...so why let me register the phone (complete with IMEI number)? Not impressed.
