I insured with the AA last year for £205. To their credit they did not try to renew it automatically as other brokers do, but their renewal quote was for £250 before I even told them that I had acquired 3 points for speeding. So I went online, declared my 3 points and got a quote from the AA for £135 which I printed off.
The next day when I retrieved my quotes intending to accept the AA, their quote had mysteriously increased to £221? I emailed them asking for an explanation and they said I would get a reply within 72 hours. It's over a week now and still no reply. I think they may be having trouble explaining this.
Meanwhile I accepted a quote for £180 from a reputable company with reasonable reviews. I only wish I had read these reviews last year before using the AA.
