Customer Review Comments:
My daughter knocked a glass from the top of the bathroom cabinet and it smashed a hole in my bathroom sink. I rang my insurance company (CO-OP) who put Homeserve in charge of dealing with the claim.
They wouldn't come out and replace the sink unless I signed a disclaimer which they sent out, saying that I accepted the sink I was being offered (even though I hadn't seen it!). I added a few amendments to the disclaimer stating that I hadn't seen the sink and I expected it to be a colour, size and style to match to the one I had damaged.
This was the Prestidge policy which offered new for old covering all eventualities. The people from Homeserve sub-contracted out the job to what I can only describe as cowboys. My sink which was a victoriana style was replaced by a plain cheap looking sink which had a much smaller pedestal. So they filled in the huge hole around the pedestal with wrongly matching grout. They said they couldn't get the same sink or pedestal as the one I had.
However after making my own enquiries I found that although the model name and number were different, there was a replacement which matched the size and shape of my old one. On contacting Homeserve they didn't want to know. They said that I had signed the disclaimer and any amendments I had added to it were invalid. Phoned CO-OP too and they weren't interested either.
They never did come and fix it and the bathroom is still a mess.
