Customer Review Comments:
I have been with E&L for 3 years, and made 3 claims with them in that time. It took them 5 weeks to send me a form and even then, I had to phone them 3 times to chase it up.
I was forced to argue to get the first claim for colic covered (which they then exempted him from), and then again for a corn on his front foot. Each of these claims were eventually paid, but not without numerous telephone calls chasing them up, over a period of 10 months! Each time I called I was told that the payment was with the department and would be sent within 10 working days!
The last claim is one for a condition which has caused my horse to react badly to being ridden. E & L advised me to pay for exploratory treatment myself, and said if the tests reveal nothing, they won't pay. I cannot afford to pay for these tests, so have no choice but to put my horse to sleep.
In all, I have experienced appalling customer 'service', arguements regarding policy cover, unreasonable periods of time to pay for claims and adding 'platinum' membership to my policy without my permission. Vets refuse to deal with this company, so if you use them, in spite of the negative reviews about them found all over the net, then be prepared to pay for the bills yourself and wait up to a year for reimbursement!
