My combi boiler was working but leaking so I called Homeserve on a Monday. Two of their contractors came out on Tuesday, turned off the boiler which flooded my kitchen, and said someone would be back on Thursday with the parts.
On Thursday, the contractor came back and found he had not ordered one of the necessary parts. He could not return again until Monday.
On the Monday he returned with the wrong size clip. So, on the Tuesday, a week after the first visit and since the boiler was completely turned off (ie. no hot water or heating for a week?!), a contractor came again, got the hot water going and then said I needed a power pump of my system to get the heating going, which is not covered by my policy. Only after that (280 pounds) would he then work again on the boiler.
I have been paying £33 a month for this appalling, incompetent service. The customer services have been generally polite but can do virtually nothing, other than offer me £80 compensation for having my boiler off for over a week. And goodness knows how much longer they would take to get the heating going even after the power pump of the system. I have cancelled my direct debit and would not recommend HomeServe to anyone. |
