Customer Review Comments:
My cat was off his food on Friday, which was unusual but we put it down to the sound of fireworks.
He recovered his appetite but I thought it really is time to get him a booster flu jab, microchipped and we'd noticed he'd got quite bad breath.
The vet diagnosed chronic gingivitis, which knocked me, especially since she said that he's obviously very young and it's just bad luck. She said he ought to go in the next morning and be assessed under anaesthetic with the possibility of the removal of some teeth.
Well, I had pet insurance so was really confident that we'd be okay. I was wrong. Naively, I had 'voluntarily' agreed to £200 excess and so it was down to me entirely. Big mistake. Chronic gingivitis is covered but the vet took one look at my agreement with Sainsbury's and shook her head and said 'disgusting' and pointed out that the cover per year was really low too. She said you are paying an average amount but not getting what you have paid for. I complained today and was told I can upgrade but now the condition is existing.
Also, if I'd got it online, which the customer adviser told me to do when I complained, I would have paid so much less. My vet said 'cancel' and that's what I have done. I have been diddled. I was told that online I could be rewarded with bonus nectar points - that just adds insult to injury.
