Customer Review Comments:
I let my Budget home insurance renew this year (late April), We have since sold our flat and I needed to cancel this insurance 3 months into the policy.

My policy fee for the year including interest for paying monthly was £90.12.

When I called to cancel they told me that the cancellation and 'short fall fees' would total ... you won't believe it... £90.12 (what an extraordinary coincidence). So I am paying a full year's fee for 3 month's cover.

I asked for and was put through to a Team Leader, Hilton, who spoke to me like I was something he has just found on the bottom of his shoe.

So, my advice would be to pay a little extra to a company you can trust. I feel like I've been mugged!!

Good Points: none
Bad Points: rude staff and outrageous cancellation fees

Just had a renewal quote for this years home insurance from November 2011...Its gone up 100 from last year. The premium I paid in Nov 2010 was 185 this year its 298!! Rang them up..... got no real explanation just "Insurance has gone up this year". They just hope most people will auto renew and when they realise its gone up will try and cancel it...too late then they've got your money and charge you a cancellation fee.
