In 2005 we had an external water leak which was covered by our home and contents insurance with Zurich.
They sent Homeserve who left our driveway in a mess, we complained and they came back and left us in an even worse state than before. We complained to Zurich who appointed Cunningham Lindsay, loss adjusters. Cunningham sent Mulberry Construction who made matters worse.
Fast forward and many phone calls and letters to September 2006. Our drive is a mess and a hole had appeared in it. I fell down it and broke my ankle in 5 places, endured 7 hours of surgery spending 10 days in hospital. Zurich refuse to take any responsibility for their sub contractors or their bad customer service.
We have a solicitor who has found Zurich 'difficult' to deal with and we are also in contact with the Financial Ombudsman. I feel the above should be made public but am afraid Zurich will try and stop that happening.
It has not shown itself to be very honourable or a company to be trusted. I would not deal with Zurich again if it was the last company on the planet!
