Review of Eon Central Heating Care

Moved to Eon after poor service from a previous provider and can't really say they are any better.

I am nearing a month anniversary of problems with my bolier which broke down completely in mid Dec. Heating and hot water were restored within 3 days however the boiler was overheating the hot water to scalding point and the display panel was showing an error not listed in the manual. 7 visits and a further 4 new parts the problem has not been fixed and the boiler has completely broken down again.

Engineers seem to jump at a 'quick fix' solution but don't actually investigate any further to see if there is a root cause to the problem.

My next visit is scheduled for Wed 13th Jan by which time I will have been without heating or hotwater for over a week and they cannot promise they will be able to fix the problem then. I suffer from Rhuematiod Arthritis and am supposedly a priority customer but I don't feel like one at present.

I have been trying to contact Eon to chase up some fan heaters which they promised to deliver but which have yet to arrive. They promise call backs from supervisors/scheduling managers but no-one ever calls you back. All told I must have spent at least one working day on the phone to their call centre all at my expense.

During really busy periods you cannot even get through on the published numbers as when you dial you get an announcement that 'this number is unavailable or may have been left off the hook' - Not at all helpful. If you do manage to get into a queue then you often face waits of 40 mins plus.

I will be submitting a formal complaint to Eon but based on the above I don't hold out much hope of ever receiving a satisfactory outcome.

I certainly do. If it is not too serious a problem they let you wait ages for an appointment. Then they don't fix it on first visit (or third). Spend more time wasting time sitting in their van or on their phones.
