Customer Review Comments:
I had to make a claim for a windscreen repair as it decided to crack from a (very) small chip hidden by sun visor strip on my car windscreen. I called autoglass and had to pay £70 excess for a new windscreen as it was beyond a 'normal repair'. I was assured it would all be straightforward and insurance companies view a replacement windscreen as 'purely accidental and not a reflection on a persons driving skills'.

Anyway I had window replaced and thought that was the end of it until I went to renew my policy and discovered I had one year less NCD than I should have had. I thought this was purely an admin error or some kind of mistake as it has happened before with them and was finally adjusted after I queried it and provided proof.

I contacted them by e-mail and was informed that I had made a claim. What claim? As far as I was concerned I hadn't. Apparently it is Swiftcover's policy to 'freeze' i/e take away a full years NCD for a windscreen. I was not happy with this and lodged a complaint, to which I received a 'snotty' reply by e-mail saying it was contained within the policy wording (news to me). I was extremely angry as I had been assred it would not affect my policy in any way, at no point was I warned of this or I would have just got the damned thing fixed myself.

Various e-mails later I have got nowhere and I lost the full year with just 3 weeks to go till my year was completed accident free!! All this stinks and cheaper or not I will not use them again. However useful this may be to anyone else now. I wish I had known.

Good Points: On internet, usually a bit cheaper than other insurers
Bad Points: Hard to get hold of anyone.
