I used to have cover with them years go and liked their quality of service and friendly disposition to customers. Well that doesn't happen anymore.
I was late with a monthly payment by 1 day, I pay via debit card but was ill. The following day and without warning I received a letter informing me that I had to forfeit £24.00 as an administration charge. When I explained the situation, not only was there no sympathy for my illness, but I was warned that if I didn't pay the £24 plus the monthly £22 there and then, my contract and hence cover would be stopped.
It was like an attempted robbery over the phone. Fortunately I kept a copy of my no claims bonus - told the 'customer service' advisor where to go and signed up with someone else.
